Before I started this blog, I posted about songs from old AT40s on Facebook, January-July 2017. I’ll be moving them here over time. This entry has been edited a little from the original.
Heard this on this past weekend’s 12/4/82 AT40, which made me want to re-up it here. It had an odd chart run, spending 13 weeks in the Top 40 (26 in the Hot 100) but never getting higher than #29, where it is in this countdown. The only US hit by this Australian band, “What About Me” was part of the wave of early 80s songs that got re-released in the late 80s (“Red Red Wine” by UB40, “When I’m With You” by Sheriff, and “Into the Night” by Benny Mardones were among the others that got this treatment). It got just to #46 the second time around. The only copy of the original video I could find has Spanish subtitles.
