Before I started this blog, I posted about songs from old AT40s on Facebook, January-July 2017. I’ll be moving them here over time. This entry has been edited slightly from the original.
This week’s #35 song, on its way to #33. Michael Stanley and crew hailed from the Cleveland area. They had one additional top 40 hit, the one-week wonder “My Town,” in November 83. I liked this song very much at the time, but had never seen the video until researching this post. Wikipedia tells me it was played twice in the first 24 hours of MTV’s existence. Man, EVERYONE is seriously overacting throughout, particularly in that hospital room scene at the end. Fun(ny) artifact from a nascent medium.
